PROJECT: EMS equipment monitoring system

Project Vision

Designing a refrigeration and air conditioning equipment monitoring system for maintenance personnel and equipment monitoring staff in large supermarkets, with Taiwan's PX Mart as the primary venue and expandable to other stores.

The monitoring system is currently exhibit in Panasonic PoME Concept Experience Hall.

Challenges

  • 1 We update the Japanese Version to Taiwanese Version and language.
  • 2 We have optimized the user friendly Interface for Taiwanese.
  • 3 Overcome the Interface problem of the plane map monitoring system of the refrigeration equipment.

Why

This project was to design and build a monitoring system.
In addition to maintaining good temperature control of the refrigeration equipment, the monitoring system can keep the freshness of the port fish and vegetables purchased in the store.

What

The monitoring method will use the technology of the cloud service. At the same time, it also has the monitoring function of the air-conditioning equipment, which is maintained well. Air quality and shopping environment, in terms of equipment maintenance, have also reduced a lot of costs, which can help companies increase revenue.

How

We use the self-powered control host to send the data to the cloud, so that the administrators and maintenance personnel of the supermarket can check the status of the equipment through the remote screen.

Real-time monitoring

The monitoring system not only maintains the freshness of portfish, meat, vegetables, etc. that the store purchases on the same day, but alsohas the monitoring function of air conditioning equipment to maintain good airquality and shopping environment. In terms of equipment maintenance, it reducesmany costs and helps the company increase profits.

What we concluding


Real-time Monitoring:
Provide real-time monitoring of the operational status of all refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including parameters such as temperature, humidity, and pressure. This allows maintenance personnel and monitoring staff to stay informed about equipment operation at all times.
Abnormality Alarms: The system should automatically detect and promptly alert for abnormal conditions, such as temperature variations, unstable refrigerant pressure, equipment malfunctions, etc., facilitating swift and appropriate responses.
Equipment Health Reports: Furnish health status reports for refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including predictive maintenance insights. These reports aid in proactively addressing potential issues before they become critical.
Centralized Control: Implement a centralized control system that allows personnel to manage and monitor multiple locations from a single interface, enhancing efficiency and ease of use.
Remote Access: Enable remote access capabilities, allowing personnel to monitor and control the refrigeration and air conditioning systems even when they are not physically present at the store. This is especially useful for timely responses to urgent situations.



Historical Data Analysis:
Provide tools for analyzing historical data to identify patterns, optimize energy usage, and plan maintenance schedules effectively.
Expandability:
Design the system to be easily scalable, allowing it to extend beyond the initial PX Mart location to other supermarkets. This ensures that the system can adapt to the varying needs of different stores.
User-Friendly Interface:
Create an intuitive and user-friendly interface that simplifies navigation and promotes efficient utilization by maintenance and monitoring personnel.
Training and Support:
Offer training resources and ongoing support to ensure that personnel are well-versed in utilizing the monitoring system effectively.
Energy Efficiency Optimization:
Integrate features to optimize energy efficiency, such as scheduling, automated controls, and recommendations for energy-saving measures.

Flat Map monitoring

The freezer and other refrigeration equipment in the floor planwere originally not properly labeled, making it difficult for users toimmediately see the desired equipment. Therefore, a floor plan specific deviceGUI was designed as an easy to view label. The improved floor plan clearlydisplays the relative position of the equipment, and the new interface can alsoaccommodate multiple floors. When there are too many devices, simply switchfloors or device menus, and use a single page to complete the operation.

By incorporating these features, the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment monitoring system can contribute to the effective management and maintenance of cooling systems in large supermarkets like PX Mart.
